WELCOME
vinNEBRASKA was founded in 1989 by several wine lovers wanting to create an event that would help to make our community a better place and to share our love for fine wines. Since its inception, vinNEBRASKA has helped raise over $1 million dollars for local charities, including the American Cancer Society, Omaha Public Library Foundation, Girls, Inc., KVNO, Easter Seals Nebraska and All Our Kids, Inc.
This annual event was designed to educate local wine drinkers by bringing winemakers to the Omaha market to discuss their wines with the consumers. In the process we have developed a wonderful tradition that introduces Omaha to nationally recognized winemakers. These vintners come back year after year because of the relationships they have formed with the vinNEBRASKA committee and our community.
The success of this event would not be possible without the amazing support from the wineries and winemakers. In the past, some of the finest winemakers from California, Oregon, France, Italy, and Germany have joined us for our events. Beyond taking time out of their busy schedules to travel to Omaha, these wineries donate wine and items for our auctions. The majority of the financial success of the event is due to the wonderful donations that are purchased in the live and silent auctions held during the event.
We are excited to have selected Ronald McDonald House Charities of Omaha as the charity for the 2009 event. The Omaha Ronald McDonald House provides a temporary home for families that bring their sick children to our community for medical care in one of our hospitals or institutions.
